JUST IN: Washington Redskins Admits Jayden Daniels Isn’t after rejecting to player with Bears

Following a dominant 40-7 win, the Washington Commanders aim to build on their strong season as they prepare to host the Chicago Bears in Week 8. Last weekend, they faced the Carolina Panthers, but their success was tempered when Jayden Daniels had to leave the field to be evaluated for a rib injury.

In the aftermath, Daniels was designated “week-to-week.” The rookie quarterback missed his second practice in a row on Thursday, though Adam Schefter offered an encouraging update.

“Washington intends to test Jayden Daniels in practice on Friday,” Schefter reported.

It would be remarkable if Daniels were ready to play, especially given that as last year’s No. 2 overall pick, he’d have a chance to face off against Caleb Williams, the only player drafted ahead of him.

Here’s the Commanders’ Thursday injury report:

**Did Not Participate (DNP):**
– QB Jayden Daniels (ribs)
– OT Brandon Coleman (concussion)
– DE Clelin Ferrell (knee)

**Limited Participant (LP):**
– G Nick Allegretti (ankle)
– DE Dorance Armstrong (rib)
– C Tyler Biadasz (thumb)
– WR Dyami Brown (ankle)
– LB Dante Fowler Jr. (groin)
– OT Cornelius Lucas (neck)
– S Tyler Owens (shin)
– S Darrick Forrest

Thursday’s injury report closely resembled Wednesday’s, though the main story remains Daniels’ status. His return could be a huge boost as the team aims for a 6-2 record.

Clelin Ferrell’s knee injury remains a significant issue, with him sitting out Thursday’s practice after being limited on Wednesday.

Currently, the Commanders are considered underdogs against the Bears, even at home, but Daniels’ return could shift the odds.
