Alabama key man depart to LSU today

The annual matchup between the LSU Tigers and Alabama Crimson Tide almost always has major implications for the SEC and the national championship, and this year is no different. Both teams enter with two losses, meaning a third loss would likely knock them out of College Football Playoff contention. The Tigers, who suffered a blowout loss to Texas A&M two weeks ago, need a strong showing to keep their postseason hopes alive. Alabama, on the other hand, is coming off a decisive 34-0 victory over Missouri and aims to make a statement on the road this Saturday.

David Pollack shared his prediction on his YouTube channel, “David Pollack College Football,” favoring the Crimson Tide largely due to quarterback Jalen Milroe’s running threat. “Rushing quarterbacks have been a challenge for LSU,” Pollack commented. “This isn’t a favorable matchup for LSU. They need to establish their running game, use the home-field advantage, and mix in some play-action with Nuss (Garrett Nussmeier). I’m picking the Tide.”

Earlier in the season, during their game against South Carolina, QB LeNorris Sellers put up an impressive performance with 10 carries for 88 yards and two touchdowns before leaving with an injury, setting the stage for a dramatic LSU comeback. In their recent game against Texas A&M, the momentum shifted when backup QB Marcel Reed entered with LSU leading 17-7 in the third quarter. Reed ran for 62 yards and three touchdowns on nine carries, helping the Aggies win 38-23.

Facing the versatile Milroe, who has rushed for 380 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, LSU must contain him and capitalize on the home crowd’s energy. The game kicks off Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
