Washington Commanders running back Brian Robinson Jr. will miss Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers due to a hamstring injury. He was officially ruled out on Friday, marking his second consecutive missed game after being a late scratch against the New York Giants last week.
The 25-year-old also missed the October 13 game against the Baltimore Ravens with a knee injury, which was Washington’s only loss since the season opener. This season, Robinson has accumulated 461 rushing yards and six touchdowns on 101 carries over seven games.
In his absence, Austin Ekeler, Jeremy McNichols, and Chris Rodriguez Jr. are expected to share the responsibilities in the backfield.
Washington (7-2) will also be without cornerback Marshon Lattimore, who joined the team from the New Orleans Saints at the trade deadline. Lattimore, sidelined with a hamstring injury sustained last month, expressed uncertainty about his return timeline, noting that his recovery depends on the trainers’ assessment.
For the Steelers (6-2), linebacker Nick Herbig (hamstring) and safety Terrell Edmunds (illness) are ruled out, while special teams players Tyler Matakevich (hamstring) and Ben Skowronek (shoulder) are questionable.
Rookie center Zach Frazier will fill in for the injured starter who has been out for two games due to an ankle injury. Kick returner and running back Cordarrelle Patterson is set to return for the first time since a September 29 loss to the Indianapolis Colts.
Quarterback Justin Fields is healthy enough to serve as backup to Russell Wilson for the Steelers, while Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels has been cleared of rib soreness and is off the injury report after playing through it in recent games.
