Good morning, everyone. Remember when the Bears’ vibe was strong?
In just eight days, they’ve gone from being seen as a playoff contender, needing only to prove they belonged in the playoff and division race, to looking like a draft contender in desperate need of a fresh start for a talented roster weighed down by the coaching staff.
Now, sitting at 4-4 and coming off a two-game road losing streak, they face the New England Patriots, with new third-overall pick Drake Maye at the helm.
They say a team is never as good as its best game and never as bad as its worst, but those last two losses were tough to watch. The Bears in Navy and Orange have one last shot to get back on track and secure a win before divisional games begin next week. For a team that’s turned losing spectacularly into an art form, this one is crucial.
It may not be a traditional “must-win” game, but for the spirit of the team, it certainly feels that way.
Here’s to going 5-4. Bear Down, friends.
