The Fremantle Football Club and Woodside Energy have agreed to an extension of their long-standing partnership for an additional two years, securing the collaboration until the end of 2027.

This additional two years builds upon their current agreement and continues a 15-year relationship that has delivered significant benefits to the Club and the wider Western Australian community.

As the Club’s Indigenous Program Partner and co-major sponsor, Woodside’s support enables Fremantle to deepen its impact across critical community programs, including the Next Generation Academy (NGA), the Fremantle Dockers School Programs, and the ongoing implementation of Fremantle’s Stretch Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).

A key highlight of the extended partnership will be the rollout of exciting new school programs in the Pilbara, set to launch in 2025.

Fremantle Dockers President Chris Sutherland said the extension underscored the strength and alignment of goals and values between the two organisations.

“Woodside has been an integral part of our Club for more than 15 years, contributing not only to our success on and off the field but also to our ability to make a meaningful difference in the community,” Sutherland said.

“The upcoming school programs in the Pilbara reflect our shared vision to enrich regional communities and create opportunities for young people.

“This initiative, alongside our NGA and RAP efforts, is a testament to the impact this partnership continues to have across WA.”

The Club’s first to four-year players visited the Pilbara region in November for their AFL Community Camp, thanks to Woodside Energy.

It was the first time the Club had visited Karratha in more than 20 years and the players were able to give back to the area by offering junior and coaching clinics to fans and volunteers in Karratha.

Sutherland also highlighted the value of the annual Woodside discussions, which provide players and staff with a forum to engage in meaningful conversations about the energy transition and its impact.

“These discussions are an example of how this partnership goes far beyond a logo on a jumper,” Sutherland said.

Woodside CEO Meg O’Neill said she was delighted to extend Woodside’s long-standing collaboration with the Fremantle Football Club, which continued to evolve in line with shared goals and values.

“Woodside and the Fremantle Dockers are two great WA-based organisations that strive for excellence, focus on sustainability, care for our team-mates and contribute to the community,” Ms O’Neill said.

“Our partnership enables the Club to deliver impactful programs such as the Next Generation Academy and the Stretch Reconciliation Action Plan, which support education, inclusion, and community development across Western Australia, especially in regional and remote areas.

“We look forward to building on these outcomes in 2025 and beyond through support for the Club’s Pilbara school programs.”

Fremantle’s efforts to promote reconciliation and community connection are guided by the Club’s Stretch RAP, developed with Woodside’s significant support.

The plan focuses on advancing understanding, respect, and opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
