Mallorca players’ friends and family were ‘bothered’, ‘made fun’ of and ‘touched without consent’ by a group of men in Saudi Arabia after the side’s Super Cup semi-final by Real Madrid in Jeddah, it has been claimed.

 

Cristina Palavra, the wife of Mallorca midfielder Dani Rodriguez denounced the harassment she and a section of the team’s supporters suffered at King Abdullah Sports City on Thursday.

She claimed that the mistreatment continued as they departed the ground, with security at a minimum for the contingent supporting Jagoba Arrasate’s side.

One Mallorca fan present alleged that they were mocked by a group of men in the stands and had photos taken of them without their consent. However, the most serious allegation was that women were also touched without their permission during the ordeal.

 

‘The departure was a bit complicated. We went with the children and there was no security,’ Palavra told Spanish outlet7 Esports IB3. ‘The truth is that the boys from this country started taking photos of us up close and harassed us. Natali, Dominik Greif’s wife, too.

 

‘We went as a group, all together with the organization and everything, but we couldn’t do anything else. We got to the bus as best we could, that’s how it is.’
