Although Penn State’s 2024 campaign ended in heartbreak, this season was nothing short of record-breaking for the Nittany Lions.

Tight end Tyler Warren is one player whose name sits atop plenty of lists, and the team as a whole cemented itself in Penn State history.

Here are some of the records broken by the Nittany Lions this season.

Most wins in program history

The 2024 Nittany Lions became the first team at Penn State to win 13 games in a single season. The previous high was 12, which was achieved in 1973, 1986 and 1994.

Penn State also played its most games in a season with 16, beating out the previous record of 14 set in 2016.

Tyler Warren

Warren broke numerous records this season for Penn State. He became the first Nittany Lion to have 100 receptions in a single season and broke the record for most career receiving touchdowns by a Penn State tight end with 19, plus the mark for most total career touchdowns with 25.

The senior also broke the career receiving yards record by a tight end in Nittany Lions’ history with 1,839 yards, and both the Penn State and Big Ten record for most yards by a tight end in a single season with 1,233.

Against USC, Warren set the record for most receptions in a single game at Penn State with 17, and his 224 yards that game marked the most by a Nittany Lions’ tight end ever.

Warren became the first Penn State tight end to win the John Mackey Award, given annually to the best tight end in college football.
