Missouri, Auburn women searching for first SEC win

The Missouri and Auburn women’s basketball teams are both striving to secure their first Southeastern Conference (SEC) victory of the season. Both teams have faced challenging schedules, each contending with multiple top-25 opponents in their initial conference games.

Auburn (9-9, 0-5 SEC) has encountered four ranked teams in its first five SEC matchups. In their recent game, Auburn was defeated by No. 7 Texas, 74-57. Despite the loss, Mar’Shaun Bostic and DeYona Gaston each contributed 18 points, with Gaston adding 14 of her points in the fourth quarter against her former team.

Missouri (11-9, 0-5 SEC) has similarly faced a tough conference slate, including games against No. 2 South Carolina, No. 18 Alabama, and No. 13 Oklahoma. In their latest outing, Missouri fell to Oklahoma, 80-63, with Grace Slaughter leading the Tigers with 15 points.

 

The two teams are set to face each other on Sunday at Neville Arena in Auburn, Alabama, with tip-off scheduled for 2 p.m. CT. This game presents a crucial opportunity for both squads to break their winless streaks in conference play.

Today will be the 18th overall meeting between Missouri and Auburn, with the black-and-gold Tigers leading the series 10-7.
