Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly turned down the opportunity to sign Australian forward Kyogo Furuhashi, who was a standout performer under Ange Postecoglou at Celtic. Furuhashi, who netted an impressive 54 goals in just over 100 appearances for Celtic, caught the attention of Spurs after Postecoglou’s arrival in North London. The Japanese striker’s prolific form in Scotland, combined with his familiarity with Postecoglou’s style of play, made him an attractive option for Tottenham. However, Tottenham has decided not to pursue a move for the forward at this stage.
Kyogo Furuhashi’s time under Postecoglou at Celtic has been highly successful. The 28-year-old forward arrived at Celtic in 2021 and quickly adapted to Postecoglou’s fast-paced, attacking football. Furuhashi’s movement off the ball, intelligent positioning, and clinical finishing made him a key player in Postecoglou’s system, which focuses on high pressing and quick transitions.
