Days after a crushing 42-point homecoming defeat, North Carolina A&T is likely to lose its top pass rusher. Joshua Hardy, a redshirt sophomore defensive end, announced via Twitter/X on Tuesday that he will enter the transfer portal. Standing 6’4″ and weighing 243 pounds, Hardy leads NC A&T in sacks with three through seven games, totaling five tackles—all for loss.
Hailing from Bowie, Maryland, Hardy excelled at Annapolis Area Christian School and was a three-star recruit, recognized among Maryland’s top edge rushers. In his senior year, he started all eight games and earned all-conference honors. His father, the late Corries Hardy, played football at the University of Miami.
NC A&T is 1-6 after a 59-17 homecoming loss to Hampton University. Head coach Vincent Brown expressed on Monday that despite the team’s struggles, he believes they remain committed. “Our guys stayed engaged. It was emotional, but I felt we had a chance early on. If you look at the score entering the fourth quarter, we were down by two scores. I didn’t think the game would unfold the way it did.”
