BREAKING: Bills welcome another DT for a huge trade in blockbuster

The Buffalo Bills stayed out of the trade market as Tuesday’s deadline passed but sought roster improvements through free agency. On Wednesday morning, the Bills announced the addition of defensive tackles Jordan Phillips and Quinton Jefferson to their active roster. Phillips, previously with the Dallas Cowboys, and Jefferson, recently released by the Cleveland Browns, were both cut by their former teams on Tuesday.

When asked about their roles, coach Sean McDermott said the team needed to assess the players’ conditioning and readiness. “Jordan Phillips, you know, was released from his other team, as was [Quinton],” McDermott explained. “We’ll see if they’re in shape and able to play. It’s one step at a time.”

Both players have prior experience with the Bills, as Phillips played for Buffalo in 2018-2019 and again from 2022-2023, while Jefferson was with the team in 2020. The Bills are currently short on defensive linemen, with Dawuane Smoot and DeWayne Carter on injured reserve, so Phillips and Jefferson’s experience may prove valuable in the coming weeks.
