The New York Mets were knocked out of the 2024 playoffs after losing Game 6 of the National League Championship Series to the Los Angeles Dodgers. This marked the Mets’ best postseason performance since reaching the World Series in 2015. Unfortunately, they struggled to manage the Dodgers’ batting lineup, allowing a total of 46 runs throughout the series. Despite the disappointing exit, Mets star Francisco Lindor expressed optimism about the team’s future. “There’s something special going on here. It’s going to be one of those where, 10 or 15 years from now, guys are still going to talk to each other. I’m proud of that,” Lindor stated, according to SNY.

Lindor seems to imply that the Mets share a deep bond, emphasizing their connection goes beyond just being teammates. They made a remarkable playoff journey, first overcoming the Milwaukee Brewers in the wild-card series and then defeating the Philadelphia Phillies in the National League Division Series.
In the championship series, Lindor delivered a solid performance, recording seven hits in 24 at-bats, including one home run, one triple, two RBIs, five runs scored, and four walks. He appears optimistic that the Mets will return next year to compete for a World Series title.
However, first baseman Pete Alonso is heading into free agency this offseason, which raises the possibility that he may have played his final game with the team. It will be intriguing to see if he returns to the Mets for the 2025 season.
