The New York Yankees make another attempt to pursue right-hander, following general manager Brian Cashman’s previous efforts at this year’s trade deadline.
At the time, talks with the Detroit Tigers reportedly fell through due to concerns over a possible lower back injury, though Cashman denied this as a reason. Flaherty eventually went on to join the Los Angeles Dodgers instead. According to ESPN’s Jeff Passan, Flaherty, now a World Series champion, could once again be on the Yankees’ radar.
